Spatial Media Lab e.V. presents:
Exclusive listening session with Discovery Zone
On November 23, 2024, we welcome spatial audio lovers – and all those who want to become one – to a very special event at our headquarter in Berlin-Weißensee.
In the listening session, the piece “Library Copy – Do Not Remove” by Discovery Zone will be heard, which has only been performed live once before. On November 23, you will therefore have the opportunity to listen to a 3D audio piece that only a few people have ever experienced. Presented will be the 7th order Ambisonic Masterfile, which was specially post-produced for a listening session after the concert. It will be played back on our 8.1.5 dome of Genelec speakers for a fully immersive experience. You rarely get to hear a setup like this! So take the opportunity and buy a ticket now.
“Library Copy – Do Not Remove” was originally conceived as a live spatial audio piece and performed on June 27, 2023 as part of the “Live Radiant” series at the Zeiss-Großplanetarium in Berlin. Artist Discovery Zone, who explores themes such as simulation theory, mythology and the holographic universe, will be present at this exclusive listening session to talk about the process of creating this piece and answer questions about the creative process.
To somewhat reproduce the atmosphere of the premiere in the planetarium, we have also invited Cinema.AV, who will accompany the sounds of Discovery Zone with live video projections. He will play a real-time set with his elaborate video synthesizer setup.
Andrew Rahman from Spatial media Lab, who arranged and mixed the piece in 3D, will also be present and is looking forward to your questions about the technical creation process.
Join us celebrating this special occasion with drinks and good vibes!
